Primorsky Krai is a dynamically developing region, which is rightfully consideredas Russia's gateway to the Asia-Pacific: growing international cooperation, enterprises established jointly with foreign companies, large-scale international events. In the province the largest investment projectsare being implemented, the infrastructure is actively developing.
On the eve of the APEC Summit 2012 held in Vladivostok, the capital of Primorye has changed considerably. New roads, two bridges: the "Golden" and "Russian" were built.
Guests of the event took the new Vladivostok international airport. The reconstruction project involved the development of airfield infrastructure and the construction of the new terminal building. The total area of the new terminal — 47.5 thousand square meters, the landside area has 40 thousand square meters. The terminal building is connected to the train stationby "Aeroexpress". The terminal has a capacity of 1360 persons per hour or 3.5 million people per year and is calculated on simultaneous service of international and domestic passenger traffic in the proportion of 30% and 70% respectively.
The terminal is distinguished by technical solutions in accordance with best industry standards. The terminal is equipped with modern security systems, registration, automated sorting and screening of baggage.
The APEC summit was held in a specially built campus. Today its territory is being used by Far East Federal University, which is the largest Russian university in the region. The FEFU campus is considered the best in Russia and one of the best in the world. It is situated on the territory of 800 thousand square meters, on the shore of the beautiful Ajax Bay in the ecologically clean district of the island Russky. Today there are 11 comfortable dormitories, modern educational buildings and laboratories, an Oceanarium of FED RAS for the joint with FEFU use in scientific and educational activities, technology park and the student center. There are also stadiums, gymnasiums, swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds for volleyball and basketball, a park and coastal area with largest waterfront, restaurants, cafes and creative centers.
In Primorye were built major sports and cultural facilities. The main cultural attraction is the Theater of Opera and Ballet. The opening of the theater took place October 18-19, 2013. He was a gift to the residents of Primorye for the 75th anniversary of the province.
The architectural feature of the buildings is glass facade, designed on the principle of "cube in a cube". The technical equipment of the theatre building is the best in Russia. The Primoryetheater features a unique sound system. In the theater there are 2scenes (big and small) - a big hall designed for large-scale opera and ballet performances. The Small hall is for chamber concerts and performances.
In 2016 the theatre will become a branch of the St. Petersburg Mariinsky theatre.
"Fetisov arena" - multipurpose sports and concert hall and playground.
The building of concert and sports complex is the largest indoor sports and concert venue in PrimorskyKrai. Fetisov arena seats up to 7500 people, has a parking for 1500 cars, a conference hall, press center, restaurant and 8 VIP boxes.
The complex was named in honor of VyacheslavAlexandrovich Fetisov, an outstanding Soviet and Russian hockey player, public figure, honored master of sports of the USSR and honored coach of Russia.
Today Primorye continues to move along the course of active development.It implements major investment projects.So, in particular, is the automobile production of the group SOLLERS.
At its base is the development of special economic zone of industrial-production type.
Key projects of private investors of the zone – expansion of car assembly production to 100 thousand cars per year, as well as the development of transport and logistics terminal with capacity increase up to 250 thousand TEUs a year.
Another project – the creation of an integrated entertainment resort "Primorye". The project allows to develop and make effective use of tourist and recreational potential of Primorye. The project envisages the commissioning of the hotel complexes (3,4,5 stars), shopping and office centre, yacht club, golf club, water park, guest villas, restaurants, ski slope and other facilities.
The project will be implemented in 3 stages. The completion of the last stageis expected by 2022.
Currently, the site has already begun the work ofthe first casino and hotel – Tigre de Cristal.
The project, located 20 km from the resort and 7 km from the international airport of Vladivostok – the sports-technical complex "Primorye Ring".
The complex will include 9 sports tracks and meet the international category "T2" in the classification of the International Automobile Federation, and "Grade A" of the International Motorcycle Federation. Technical features of the circuit operation assume year-round operation, including ice racing in the winter. It can accommodate up to 30,000 spectators.
Today the construction of internal roads, access roads, utility works, construction of karting and motocross tracks are already completed. The construction of an asphalt area for the drift competition, a children's rope park, landscaping are also completed. This project has been already implemented, on the premises are organized different events, including international competitions of motocross and motorbike.
Projects in other sectorsare also being implemented in the region. One of the key sectors for the region is logistics. The sample project in this area is construction of industrial and logistics complex "Yankovsky". It is created on the territory of the Artyom urban district to meet the demand for quality warehouse premises of a large area. In accordance with the project it is the construction of a warehouse complex of classes "A", "B" and "C", industrial premises, objects of engineering infrastructure, road network, checkpoints and administrative buildings.
The opening of the first phase of the project took place on 7 April 2015 and the entire project will be implemented by 2020. It will cost 2 billion rubles.
To ensure a smooth operation of transport at the junction "railway – sea" in the province a system of "Dry ports" is under construction.
The construction project of a transport-logistics center of the type "Dry port" in the territory of the Artemovsky city district will optimize the movement of export cargo through the ports of the region, and will also facilitate the download of TRANS-Siberian railway in the opposite direction.
The project cost is estimated at 1.5 billion rubles. In June 2014 we have already opened the first stage of the transport and logistics center.
A new stage in the investment development of the territory marked the First East Economic Forum, which took place in September 2015. He gave a start of realization of new investment projects.
In the framework of theevent 22 agreements worth 100 billion rubles were signed. Among them are agreements on the projects of companies "Primorsky confectioner", "Incom DV", "Mercy Agro Primorye", "Chernigov Agroholding", "YugRusi", "Green Agro" and others.
The effect from implementation of projects identified in the annual East Economic Forum will bring the region to a new level.
