During the opening of the first McDonald's in Vladivostok Konstantin Shestakov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Primorsky Region, and Mark Karena, CEO of McDonald's LLC, signed a cooperation agreement between the company and the Regional Government on Monday, December 21.
First McDonald's was opened in the Cheryomushki shopping center, and two more restaurants will be opened in Vladivostok later. During the ceremony, Mark Karena said that these are the first restaurants of the chain in the Russian Far East. The company has already created 500 jobs in the region, and their number should be increased in the future. The enterprise is a resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok. It is planned to involve Primorye farmers’ product supplies. In addition, the emergence of a strong global competitor will improve local foodservice sector.
“Undoubtedly, the opening of McDonald's in Vladivostok is not just the opening of another fast food service. It’s an essential event for many. All foodservice companies will have to take into account the presence of such a significant competitor and improve the quality of services. This is a signal for investors, a marker of the region's attractiveness for investments. All in all, there are new jobs, supply chains, partnerships, new service technologies, and more. I wish the company, management and all employees a long and effective work in our region,”commented Konstantin Shestakov.
Let us remind you that McDonald's, even before the opening in Primorye, on its own initiative, provided humanitarian aid to the residents of Russky Island who suffered from emergency caused by the ice storm in the end of November.
